Drake beats are very minimal. It can be a science to create something with such simplicity. In FL Studio, I will show you how to make Drake beats using stock plugins and software (inside of FL Studio)

FL Studio 12 has plenty of plugins you can use to achieve the Toronto OVO (OVOXO) hip hop sound. Drake has influenced a ton of artists and genres and his music is very simple to make. It’s a mix of trap, dark club music and modern ballad. Here are Busy Works Beats we like to show you how to achieve the sound of the pros using what you have at home.

These elements of drake music are still being used today as he collaborates with Travis Scott and makes double albums, Drake’s team still pulls from the same sound palette. The sounds are classic for a reason, they always work.

Drake sounds can be found in FL Studio stock plugins and sound libraries. You can use Classic Roland TR 808 drum machines for drums and a soft pad and low pass filtered super saw for bass.  These sounds have now influenced acts like Tory Lanez, Travis Scott, and Trippie Redd.

Many people overlook FL Studio stock plugins because of the history of the Image Line company and people associating novices with FL Studio, but Image Line has upgraded their software plugins and sounds to give you a decent starting point in your music production. They’ve added some free drum libraries and more plugins you can use with the cheaper editions of FL Studio.

Drake beats have broken tons of records and his influence will live on in legend. In the video above, I will show you how to achieve his sound using your stock plugins (so you don’t have to spend a bunch of money getting software).
